Message of the Vice-Chancellor

I am extremely happy to launch the updated website of UGC-Academic Staff College, Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla  i.e. ascshimla.org. Since its inception, the Academic Staff College has been performing exceptionally well as one of the premier institutions of this kind in India because of its distinct national character, work culture, dynamic approach and innovative teaching techniques. UGC– Academic Staff College was established in 1989 as part of UGC’s attempt to re-orient the training of teachers engaged in higher education. I am happy to proclaim that the College has earned a name for itself in the country and till date more than 11000 teachers all over country have been trained by organizing 336 programmes.

The Academic Staff College is enriched with a splendid array of infrastructural facilities, including latest modern electronic equipments, well furnished conference rooms, state-of-the-art computer labs, INFLIBNET and EDUSAT network connectivity.

To make the stay of the trainees comfortable, the construction of a hostel for trainees is in progress.

I appreciate the efforts of Prof. Kulwant Singh Pathania, Director, Academic Staff College and his team for imparting quality training in the College. I sincerely hope that the information placed on the website will cater to the academic requirements of the aspirants, who are keen to attend the programmes at the Academic Staff College, Shimla.
